My Role and Responsibilities
My name is Tricia, and I am a Human Resources leader with over 15 years of professional Human Resources experience. My areas of expertise include providing guidance and support to management and employees in areas of recruitment, retention, employee relations, performance management, employee leaves and return-to-work programs. I am passionate about people, with a strong focus on creating a culture of caring and mutual respect. I am also the current Branch Manager of the Barrie office.
I joined Burnside in 2013 as an HR Generalist, spending most of my time working with the HR team to recruit staff for our 10 branch offices. In this role, I demonstrated success in building strong connections and relationships with our senior leaders, people managers, and staff throughout the organization.
More recently, I moved into the new role of Director of People Operations, working on a variety of corporate people and HR initiatives, as well managing the HR and Branch Management teams. I was also proud to serve on our internal Safety Oversight Committee, which acted quickly throughout the pandemic to ensure that health and safety decisions, which impacted staff and the company, followed, or exceeded local health unit and provincial guidelines and mandates.
My Interests and Hobbies
I am a proud mom of three wonderful children, a small pup and three cats. I recently moved to Huntsville to be closer to family, and when I am not travelling to work, you are likely to find me somewhere in Muskoka on either a lake, river, or trail – kayaking, hiking, or camping. My next purchase will be a hybrid bike so I can explore more trails within Huntsville and extended areas.
