My Role and Responsibilities

My name is Carl, and I am Vice President, Facilities at Burnside, responsible for the management of our Building Restoration, Electrical, Mechanical, and Structural teams.

I have been a Professional Engineer since 1998 with a strong focus in structural engineering for a variety of buildings, ranging from residential, commercial, and industrial facilities, to specialized applications such as bolted steel water tanks and air supported structures. My design experience covers a wide range of materials, including wood, steel, aluminum, concrete, fabric, and glass.

I have prepared expert reports regarding damage to structures, construction issues, design issues, and I am qualified as an expert witness at a Professional Engineers’ Ontario tribunal.

Additionally, I draw from my experience as a structural designer and expertise at computer modelling to arrive at practical solutions to complex structural engineering problems.

I am a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a Charter Member of the Structural Engineering Institute.
