We are very pleased to announce that the Region of Peel’s Alloa Reservoir and Pumping Station Project has been selected as the Ontario Public Works Association’s (OPWA) 2020 Project of the Year (Environmental Projects, $10-$50 Million)! The award was received by Project Managers Bill Turner of Peel Region and Jeff Langlois of Burnside at the January 21, 2021 OPWA Annual Conference & Awards Ceremony, held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The $45 million project, which will ultimately provide a pumping capacity of 165 ML/d and storage capacity of 70 ML, took four years to construct and will meet the water demands for development growth in the City of Brampton’s Northwest Development Area.
Congratulations to all Peel Region, OCWA and Burnside staff that were involved in the project, as well as Burnside’s partners – Stanford Downey Architects, Eramosa Engineering and Romag Contracting Ltd. – who were all instrumental in the project’s success.
