Burnside was retained by JC Millwrights to complete the structural design and drawings for an addition to the Nieuwland feed mill in Drayton, Ontario. The addition wrapped around three sides of the existing mill and included a large drive-through receiving area complete with weigh scale, a new mill tower, a drive-through load-out area complete with weight scale, and a storage area for bagged products that enveloped the existing office building bringing the full operation together under one roof.
Burnside completed the detailed structural design and drawings for the facility and played a key role in coordinating the design and layout of the facility with the mechanical, electrical, process and sprinkler designs. Complex process requirements were integrated throughout the facility design, culminating in an efficient facility for the Nieuwland team.
