Mono Bridge

Bridge Replacement

The Town of Mono is a rural community in both geography and character, located in south-central Ontario, in the south-east corner of the County of Dufferin. The Town of Mono requested R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited (Burnside) to design a replacement for the 7th Line Bridge, located on Mono 7th Line over a tributary to the Humber River, approximately 0.1 km south of the 5th Sideroad, in the Town of Mono.

The contract included the demolition and removal of the existing 3.05 m span concrete rigid frame and construction of an open bottom concrete box with a span of 3.3 m. The old bridge was experiencing severe deterioration of its concrete components, and had a narrow road platform. The new structure brought the site to current standards in all respects, including safety, geometry, road grades and load capacity.
